Dolby Vision, often written as DV or DoVi, is a dynamic HDR format. It is not simply brighter; it can adjust brightness and color metadata scene by scene, making highlights, shadows and color gradation more stable. It appears on premium streaming releases, UHD Blu-ray and Remux files. The display, player and playback chain must support it, otherwise it may fall back to HDR10 or SDR.
